Finnish customs has closed a large darknet marketplace Sipulimarket — the only illegal platform for the sale of drugs in Finnish Tor network.
The agency conducted the operation together with the Polish police with the support of Europol. According to the authorities, “a significant amount of drugs and other illegal goods” were sold through Silpulimarket.
Customs reported the confiscation of bitcoins associated with the platform, without specifying the exact amount. The preliminary investigation of the case continues.
Silpulimarket has become an alternative to the illegal Silkkitie (Valhalla) marketplace, which was closed in 2019 and is aimed at the Finnish audience.
